Student Activities Division – Overview

The Student Activities Division consists of three units: the University Sports Unit, the Art Activities Unit, and the Scout Activities Unit. The division organizes a variety of activities throughout the academic year, with each unit conducting its specialized activities within the college.

University Sports Unit

The Sports Unit organizes activities including:

  1. Five-a-side football

  2. Basketball

  3. Volleyball

  4. Table tennis

  5. Tennis

  6. Chess
    … and other sports.

These activities are held as tournaments between students of different academic departments during each semester. Additionally, students participate in competitions outside the college, including Iraqi university championships, the Middle Technical University championships, and friendly matches with neighboring colleges.

Art Activities Unit

The Art Unit welcomes talented students and organizes artistic activities such as drawing, sculpture, ceramics, handicrafts, and other art forms. Students receive direct support to practice their art within the unit. Completed artworks are displayed in exhibitions within the college and, selected pieces, participate in external exhibitions and festivals at the Middle Technical University level and eventually in competitions across Iraqi universities.

Scout Activities Unit

The Scout Unit mainly operates outside the college. A two-week scouting camp is organized outside the governorate, with participation from all colleges and institutes of the Middle Technical University, including our college. At least ten students participate under the supervision of the Scout Unit coordinator. These camps are usually held in spring.
