Overview: Scientific Affairs Division
The Scientific Affairs Division is considered the Research and Development unit and is one of the key and active divisions in the organizational structure of the college. Its importance stems from its role in overseeing scientific research and its requirements, which is the primary goal of universities and their associated institutions. The division’s role is evident through its organization of conferences, courses, and workshops, as well as its coordination with other research departments in governmental ministries, thereby integrating the college’s contribution to society and the national economy.
General Function of the Division:
Managing all matters related to research, conferences, scientific and cultural seminars, and the affairs of the division’s staff.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:

Preparing the annual research plan of the college in cooperation with the teaching staff.

Organizing conferences, scientific seminars, and workshops.

Monitoring pioneering research by faculty members and external researchers affiliated with the college.

Coordinating research efforts with other government departments to benefit society and the national economy.

Following up on the implementation of the college’s research plan.

Obtaining letters of appreciation from the Dean’s Office for researchers who publish in reputable scientific journals.

Monitoring faculty clearances and obtaining no-objection letters.

Managing and organizing scientific and cultural conferences and seminars at the college.

Archiving all matters related to academic affairs and academic titles of faculty members.

Organizing forms for scientific promotion, completed research, and published works.

Collaborating with government departments to promote scientific outputs.

Monitoring daily correspondence and preparing administrative communications to and from the division.

Obtaining letters of appreciation for researchers who received patents.

Following up on scholarship affairs and academic leave for faculty studying abroad.

Coordinating official assignments and deputations for faculty members inside and outside Iraq.
