Introductory Note

It is no exaggeration to say that the book represents the most significant intellectual and cultural asset in academic institutions, as the library is considered one of the most vital scientific resources that enrich colleges. Believing in the importance of the library’s role in the advancement and prosperity of the college, the College of Food Sciences / Al-Shirqat has placed great emphasis on developing its library and making it one of its top priorities.

The library of the College of Food Sciences / Al-Shirqat was established at the same time as the founding of the college in the academic year 2024–2025. Despite its relatively short history, the library has been equipped with the necessary furnishings, including wooden shelves and administrative furniture, in addition to a valuable collection of scientific and cultural resources. Within a short period, the library has acquired approximately 250 titles covering various scientific, literary, and cultural fields.

Moreover, a well-equipped reading hall has been established to encourage students to regularly use the library’s resources. The library has also hosted two book fairs with the participation of several authors. In addition, the library hall has served as a venue for an art exhibition and a calligraphy exhibition, featuring contributions from specialists as well as students of the college.

The work of the library is built on three essential pillars: a book to be read, eyes that read, and an administration that oversees. These three pillars have consistently guided the mission and vision of the college library.
