About the College
The College of Food Sciences in Sharqat is one of the colleges affiliated with Tikrit University. It was established in 2024 and welcomed its first batch of students in the 2024-2025 academic year. The college began with two departments: Dairy Science and Technology and Food Science and Technology. Evening studies were introduced in 2024.
Providing quality educational services and developing academic and applied research, whether for academic degrees or solving industrial problems, in addition to the advisory role to serve and develop work in the field of food and dairy sciences and technology.The college's activities extend to holding training courses at the local and regional levels, in addition to preparing some solid scientific references on food and dairy sciences and technology.

Preparing specialized cadres and researchers to work in health institutions affiliated with the Ministry of Health and in research centers in the fields of nutrition and food safety.

Training qualified personnel to work in health control departments and food fraud detection, by equipping graduates with the necessary skills to perform their assigned tasks with high efficiency and accuracy.

Providing competent staff to support medical and health professionals in delivering nutritional services through nutrition intervention units.

Preparing qualified cadres for monitoring and investigating food safety and suitability for human consumption, by supporting the Ministry of Health’s mobile teams in detecting food fraud, given the critical importance of this sector to individual and community health.

Organizing training and guidance programs to enhance the scientific and practical competencies of workers in the fields of food science, dairy technology, nutrition, and food safety, in line with the Ministry of Health’s efforts to improve the expertise and capabilities of its staff.

Holding specialized conferences and scientific symposia in the areas of food safety, nutrition, food science, and dairy technology, and cooperating with local, regional, and international scientific bodies through seminars and training courses.

Contributing to the preparation and provision of scientific references in both Arabic and English, in areas related to food science, dairy technology, nutrition, and food safety.

Collaborating with local consultancy offices by providing recommendations and expertise that contribute to the development of local production in the fields of food science and dairy technology.
Vision of the College of Food Sciences – Al-Shirqat
The College of Food Sciences – Al-Shirqat was established in the academic year 2024–2025. The duration of study at the college is four years, after which graduates are awarded a Bachelor’s degree in Food Sciences. Admission is limited to graduates of the scientific branch of secondary education, for both male and female students.
The college aims to prepare graduates qualified to work in scientific institutions and organizations specialized in food and dairy science and technology, contributing to the development of local production in this vital field.
